I’m horrified by Trump’s order to send 300 National Guard troops to Chicago. We’re only nine months into a four year term and already the president is trying to invade an American city. If you’re in the Guard, you can and should refuse these orders.

I don’t agree with everything on this list, but at least someone is trying! IMO Some things should be off the table for now -like the electoral college. I’d drop abortion as a wedge issue for now -bring it in policy fights. Add expand SCOTUS, dismantle ICE + DHS, and ban the military from US cities.

Red states -or red areas in blue ones- can’t always be won by a Democrat. The point is strategy: hold your nose if you must and get it done. If a maga helps a Dem win by being vile, great. If a Dem can’t win, back the less toxic republican instead.

We need to think, strategize and do what we must.

The public cannot stay silent in the face of such reckless and authoritarian conduct by the President of the United States.

After they get rid of one group of 'undesirables' they will manufacture another one - because that is how they get power - by having a target. After no one is left but them, they will turn on each other.

You are not here to stay puppy murdering bitch - you will be out the second the democrats win back the white house. When we get control of the house this coming year, we will obliterate your budget.

DHS and ICE need to be dismantled.

@govpritzker.illinois.gov Why isn't this person arrested for excessive force at the least?

There must be consequences. Because Justice Matters.

NEVER FORGET: Any U.S. Congress or state & local Government member NOT speaking out AGAINST these CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY by ICE & their co-conspirators is JUST as COMPLICIT. YOU WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE BY THE PEOPLE!

I think large parts of the military will balk at massacring American citizens. He will lose support faster than post Jan 6.

Wow, that's very interesting. I didn't know about these. That said, I think peaceful mass protests in the face of their attempts at brutality will cause him to lose support the fastest (and safest).

If the people remain peaceful, while there are images of presidential overreach and abuse of power, then he will lose legitimacy fast. The key thing is to remain peaceful. Think of the civil rights movement and Kent State. Images of the govt. abusing people will be his downfall.

Protest peacefully

Mark, #PresidentMiller is behind all the immigration policies. He’s the real brains behind the operation -or the lone brain cell. Boy, if #PresidentMiller were trending, I bet trump would put #PresidentMiller out to pasture like he did with #PresidentMusk.

Bottom line:

The moment a ruler orders violence on their own, they stop ruling and start falling. Fear looks like power right up until it shatters.

> Public resistance would likely surge, not shrink. The imagery of state violence on American soil would radicalize opposition, not suppress it.

> State and local authorities might defy him, especially if troops or federal agents attack civilians.

> Congress and the courts would face immense pressure to act - impeachment, emergency sessions, or invoking the 14th or 25th Amendments.

In the U.S. context

If Trump (or any U.S. president) tried to instigate or justify mass violence:

> The chain of command could break -federal troops and state National Guards take orders only up to a point; unlawful orders can be refused.

History shows this over and over -from Romania in 1989, to Libya in 2011, to Myanmar in 2021. The more violence a ruler unleashes on their own citizens, the faster they lose control of the narrative and the loyalty that sustains them.

> International condemnation follows - sanctions, isolation, and possible legal consequences for crimes against humanity.

The regime usually loses legitimacy permanently.

If the military or security forces actually open fire on civilians:

> Public outrage explodes - even among people who were neutral or afraid.

> Mass defections can begin in the armed forces or government (especially if officers refuse illegal orders).

05.10.2025 04:19 — 👍 4    🔁 1    💬 1    📌 0

But this tactic can also backfire dramatically. Once violence begins, control becomes unpredictable -the military, police, or even the leader’s own allies may fracture.
