We see how Farage has consistently claimed he's not a racist (probably correctly these days) and we should thank him for ensuring the far right vote REF and not NF etc but his obvious support for Goodwin's racist ideas implies he wants it both ways. Like Enoch Powell, any votes will do.

I very much hope you’re right. Goodwin has been asked to explain his views by many of us. He doesn’t reply.

To those who study or reflect on politics the ‘horseshoe’ is a source of great puzzlement. One imagines that individual psychological neediness to make an impact on the world trumps any genuine desire to serve others. God protect us from politicos.

What is totally inexplicable is that REF lectures us on the importance of the family whilst its own leaders demonstrate their total disregard for it & cuddly Muslim Zia Yusuf says he’s going to make the UK Christian again. Are voters really that gullible? Yes.

If Axel Springer buys them as is mooted today, they're possibly in for a shock. Actually I rather like the paper (not its Brexit nonsense of course, nor the Brexit columnists it employs) but it's a good read, and it's open about its drift, unlike weasely Times.

@Telegraph views ex-prof Goodwin through a very soft lens. He & they (conveniently) forget he began his activist journey as a founder of ‘The Full Brexit’, a para-Trotskyite group promising a Brexit-enabled permanent revolution in the UK.
