Year 1 identified lots of deciduous trees in Forest School today 🍂🍁🍂🍁

A huge thank you to our Cheadle Catholic community. Today we sent a van load of food to Chelwood Foodbank following our Harvest Festival collection. Together we will make a difference to the lives of people in our community who need it most.

Year 1 enjoyed their walk to Bruntwood Park. We enjoyed seeing all the autumnal colours and looking at the variety of trees that are in the park. 🌳 🍁 🍂

Reception have enjoyed learning all about Diwali. We have made diya lamps, Diwali cards, Rangoli patterns and Mehndi hand designs. 🎆🎇

In year 2 we have been using all our colour mixing skills to create our final piece of artwork in the style of Claude Monet 🖼️

Today the school was a sea of red as we participated in ‘show racism the red card’. We remembered what it means to be anti-racist and how we can stand up to racism together!

Year 1 enjoyed the Rise theatre production today. In our workshop we talked about working as a community to look after Gods world. 🌎

Year 1 enjoyed a walk to discover what amenities we have close to our school. We discovered many different types of houses and a variety of shops that serve the community.

Today the NSPCC came to school to talk to the Year 2 children about how to ‘Speak out, Stay Safe’. The children thought about who their trusted adults were, in and out of school. We talked about how important it is to tell someone if you are sad, worried or frightened about something.

This week Year 2 have been learning about Baptism. The children found out about the role of the priest, the parents and the godparents and acted out our own ceremony.

Year 1 really enjoyed our new basketball hoops this lunchtime 🏀

Year 1 enjoyed a gymnastics lesson with Mrs Wall today. We learnt lots of different ways to travel.

Reception have been working hard in maths this week. They have been making groups of 3, building patterns, building the number blocks and so much more!

A fantastic day for our sponsored walk! We’ve had a great time out in the fresh air and we’re thrilled to be raising much needed funds for school. Thank you all for your amazing support. 😊

R1 Sponsored Walk

The children took part in our annual sponsored walk. We had lots of fun playing a variety of musical instruments along our journey.

Year 1 enjoyed an allotment visit today. We collected so much 🍎 🥕

How many ways are there to draw the rain? Year 2 having been taking inspiration from varied styles of artwork to create different line drawings. They also experimented with wax resist painting to create a stormy effect. It was amazing to see how every child created something unique.

We have been celebrating European Languages Day in Forest School completing a flag hunt.

Today the Faith Council accompanied me as we handed over the Jubilee Icon to our Junior School. They led the Junior children in prayer & reflection,carrying on the spirit of the pilgrimage.#jubileeicon

This week in Year 2 we took our Geography learning outside to further develop our fieldwork skills. We learnt how to use a compass and found North, East, South and West in the playground 🧭 Then we observed, discussed and drew what we could see in each direction!

This Sunday, the County Ladies take on Liverpool at Edgeley Park – and we want you there.

We were honored to welcome the Jubilee Icon of The Visitation to our school today.Blessed by Bishop Mark, this sacred icon is on a special pilgrimage connecting all the schools/ colleges in Shrewsbury Diocese. Thank you, Aquinas College, for handing it over to us and leading our Celebration.

Reception have had a great morning exploring forest school. We loved the mud kitchen and the tree swing.

In Year 2 today we experimented with different textures to create cloud paintings ☁️ we mixed black and white together to create different shades of grey! We also created oil pastel pictures in the style of Claude Monet 🖼️

R1 Forest School

The children in R1 enjoyed their first reception forest school today. They explored the area and listened to the forest school rules. They all had so much fun!

Year 2 dug up a huge variety of vegetables from the school allotments today!
