Many "SAP developers" get thrown in the deep end with a new tech that no one has experience with, little doco/guidance from SAP, and have to figure it out to make things work - Maybe a better skill definition for Senior? It's being able to mask your imposter syndrome and get well designed results!

Exactly, but if you are on S/4HANA 2022 or greater, and you are not even trying to remain clean, leverage CDS, RAP, Fiori Elements or trying to learn ADT - in the marketplace at least, you are not a senior ABAP consultant. Imagine a vendor offering you a senior who has never used ADT for an upgrade?

There are many Senior ABAP Consultants who don't know (and sometimes don' t want to know) Object Oriented techniques, yet alone RAP, CDS, User Adaptation, Fiori Elements, Custom Fields/Logic, and so much more - but they would still be called Senior ABAP Consultants. Maybe for >= S/4HANA 2022 - no?

New side menu in FLP will be interesting to gauge it's usability, and looks like part 2 will be the UX update I'm really looking forward to reading.

Are there any production quality complex recent (Java or NodeJS) CAP Service Solutions with a proper UI5 component separation and integration with BTP IS/Cloud Identity in GitHub anywhere - I'd like to see a well structured solution with separation of concerns, that scales to a larger solution.

Kelvin Smith dragged a piano around Tassie to raise awareness for mental health & sparked the idea in me to play acoustic versions of my songs in incredible Tassie Locations. Very much out of my comfort zone but 1st song released today.

It's a little tricky to do well but I learnt the middle click (scroll wheel click) on windows opens links in a new tab today!

I really wish SAP ERP Cloud included old TDMS style partial copies integrated with SuccessFactors/IAS/etc - This is still the killer Cloud service compared to on-premise IMO.

Question about ERP Cloud PCE: From looking around, it seems prod data in non-prod has potential support cost implications (not obvious db size cost related) so are 3rd party partial client copy tools with obfuscation supported, and if not, so many questions?

So in clean core - If I have a clean WebGUI transaction where (eg) I want a Material Value Help that hides inactive materials, is there a way to do this considering custom search helps must not be released (error in ADT if I try)? Append Search Help feels like Tier 2 possibility.

Interesting tool that could be useful sometime, but video is also a good way of understanding how to work with OData and intros batch well too...

This is my way of seeing how ready CAP is for the masses to build and support in real customers (typescript and unit testing is an important aspect IMO in this scenario). Last year, it wasn't ready.

Pretty sure this is what I'm about to achieve in CAP/UI5/TypeScript/Integration learning experiment!

My success, failures and learnings will be posted on SCN (!) occasionally so hopefully I can get feedback before I mess it all up...

Finally getting serious about building CAP based projects with the aim to identify the most opinionated Typescript/NodeJS based solution, leveraging current modules, integrated with Integration Suite, BPA and S/4HANA. I will be remotely taking notes from #codeconnect next week! Opinions welcome!

And remember if you want embedded SAC SuccessFactors reporting then SF needs to be the imported user system (though I think sap made the wrong design decision there), use a custom domain including the full cert chain and note the bi-weekly update of cert process

I personally would love to work in CAP over RAP any day, but I'd want someone like you, @jasper07.secondphase.com.au or similar ensuring a supportable by mere mortals solution is delivered on my first big project!

I read this excellent post and think "With great power comes great responsibility" and really wish SAP would be more opinionated on a default fully enterprise ready application DevOps setup to protect us from rogue development and many flavours!
