Sixers' offense is just a total mess right now. Even on the possessions they've gotten good looks, they're missing them -- and it seems like the Heat have made them pay on the other end every time.

Winds up not being a bad quarter for the Sixers. Had opportunities to make it a better one, but they're within striking distance entering the fourth. Heat up 99-93.

Andre Drummond has 19 rebounds. There's 4:50 left in the third quarter. Also just made an excellent touch pass in transition for a Tyrese Maxey three. Nice push here and the deficit is down to six.

Not sure I've seen a guy draw fouls on three threes over the course of like five minutes of game time.

Paul George doesn't start the second half. Miami is going double big and PG is still on a minutes restriction, so we'll see if this is strategic.

Tyrese Maxey nailed two threes, then Jared McCain hit one to tie the game at 67-67. Unfortunately, the Sixers fouled Norman Powell from three on back-to-back possessions. Sixers still did well to get back into the game after a shaky start. Heat up 71-67.

So he of course makes a fadeaway heave with the shot clock winding down. He then buried a corner three off a turnover.

Tyrese Maxey has had at least four threes go in and out on him today. He's creating great looks with the step-back, they're just not falling.

Sixers chipping away here. Paul George has really led the way on both ends. Once he switched onto Jaquez the Heat offense sputtered. Jaquez was cooking prior to that.

Ugly first quarter.

The lack of a true backup center hurting the Sixers right now. Kel'el Ware is killing them on the offensive glass.

Dominick Barlow has provided legitimate rim protection the last couple games, but he just picked up his second foul. Other guys need to help him on the glass.

Calls have probably been correct, but we're getting some LATE whistles today. Weird start. Sixers are shooting below 30% despite getting good looks, but only trail 25-20.

Huh? You’re the only person who commented, so not sure I want the “eyes” you’re referencing. Every beat reporter at practice today gave this Embiid update. It would be total malpractice to ignore a guy who was the MVP of the league a couple years ago. And I/we cover the team fully — all players.

You’re more than welcome to move on. It’s my job to cover the team, so Joel Embiid’s injury status is a pretty big part of that.
