If ChatGPT is not consistently dependable, how are we suppose to use it for actual work?
Discussion
It's behavior and results can randomly change due to some OpenAl tweaking that's opaque.
On some days it can't even keep track of a fresh chat, it can't do calculations, it can't sort through a chat to extract relevant information, and when it's suppose to refer to source material in a PDF, it doesn't.
All because OpenAl trained it for fluency and basically to simulate whatever it can for user satisfaction.
I can use it for general chats, philosophical stuff, therapy, but nothing serious. I'm pro Al, but I approach it with skepticism knowing it's undependable (as I do with anything I read).
And prompts can be interpreted/executed differently across users' own interaction with their Als so it's not truly scalable.
How does the business world / leaders expect staff to adopt Al if it's not consistently dependable? It doesn't even calculate like a calculator. If the internet start claiming 2+2=5, that's what it'll answer with.
I'd use it for hobbies and pet projects but I can't imagine using it for anything "mission critical".

He has a higher OPS than Kwan or Robert or any Phillies outfielder this season. They got better. Would I rather have Kwan or Robert? Sure. But for the value, Bader is strong work.

The Phillies got one of the most dominant closers in baseball and a solid righty bat who can play all three outfield spots. And they didn't empty the cupboard to do so. Call up Justin Crawford and I'm in.

This is intellectual theft. But billionaires run this country and are going to keep shoving unregulated AI down our throats. Bleak shit.

For All The Kids Still Wishing | By VJ Edgecombe My family used to live off a generator.Β Now I play for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Not that you need another reason to root for VJ Edgecombe, but this quote, man ...

Now I play for the Philadelphia 76ers."

What’s funny about having severe anxiety is that the cringey actions of others give you anxiety. Five seconds into this I wanted to sit in a corner and curl up in a ball.

He was legitimately very good as a rookie. Just really struggled this past season. I think there's a NBA player in there when he plays within himself.

This was a fun feature to write. I enjoyed covering Ricky. Has a big personality and big-time swagger but is still down to earth. I'm sure this won't be the last we hear from him.

Sixers have officially waived Ricky Council IV. His contract for 2025-26 was non-guaranteed so it makes sense.

Convicted Murderer Released by Trump From Venezuelan Prison Is Free in U.S.

Trump swapped ICE prisoners held a CECOT, many of whom had no criminal record anywhere in the world, for a triple murderer.

He is somewhere in the United States; nobody seems to
know where.

Here’s hoping Joel Embiid can heal physically and, more importantly, mentally An outstanding ESPN feature revealed more about Joel Embiid than anything ever has and maybe ever will.

"Two things can both be true when reading this story: Embiid is his own worst enemy when it comes to playing through injuries, and the Sixers should’ve intervened more frequently to protect him from himself."

The professor I reference in this story was hosting a pod with Malcolm-Jamal Warner. She's one of my favorite people ever. I bring it up not to promote but just because of the insane coincidence.

Loved Warner's cameo on Detroiters. He played an awesome character in Sneaky Pete too.
