The Fossil Fibers October 2025 fibers blending club. The inspiration picture was vintage painted teacups. At the top are locks of undyed Texel wool and a bit of silky looking white rose fiber. On the bottom are dyed locks of Shetland wool in pale blue, pink, and green. There’s also a bit of orangey gold eri silk.

The same fiber after combing and being lashed onto a hackle. The white Texel provides fluffiness, and the silk fiber and eri silk have just been layered on top.

This glorious Corriedale 🧶 from @fossilfibers.bsky.social will be my last spin with my little Kiwi, because I upgraded to a new wheel. I'm gonna keep it around for a bit to ply larger spins on until I can get a jumbo flyer for the new one.

New braids from Fossil Fibers arrived yesterday. The multi-colored batt is from the Studio Ghibli inspired colorways. It’s called Arrietty’s Room. The purple one is “Night Berry”.

A beautiful gradient blue blend of BFL and silk from Fossil Fibers, inspired by Howl of Howl's Moving Castle.

I'm aiming for a very light fingering or lace weight 2-ply, and so far it's cooperating really well!

#TourDeFleece update: my first finished skein of TDF is hanging up to dry, second one is now on the bobbin! I forgot to take a picture of this braid before breaking it up, but it's an absolutely lovely BFL from @fossilfibers.bsky.social.

I decided to experiment by breaking the braid into chunks and spinning colors randomly. I love how that turned out!

#TourDeFleece update: finished plying this lovely green yarn from @hipstrings.bsky.social, and started the braid on the right from @fossilfibers.bsky.social. It's Rambouillet, so I'm spinning it fine and I think it will take me the rest of TDF.

My last spin of #TourDeFleece was this lovely skein from @fossilfibers.bsky.social. It had been in my stash for a bit, and while I was spinning it I wished I'd bought more. Final TDF line up on the right. I spun about a pound of yarn, and had fun!

A knitted shawl in progress. A gradient from orange at the top to yellow to yellow-green at the bottom. (The remaining yarn, not pictured, transitions to green) The top edge of the shawl is a semicircle, and it spreads out into two half formed wings. The stitches are arranged to look like feathers, but it's still wrinkled and scrunched in texture. The bottom edge is still on a long knitting needle, with a couple dozen stitch markers separating every feather repeat. Some of the markers are shaped like birds, and there is a silver spinning wheel charm and a blue sheep as well.

Sorry I haven't been here! I'm mostly getting my social media fix from various Discord servers these days. But I'm also spending a lot of time knitting! This Wingspan shawl is really coming along! All handspun yarn. Fun knit, once you have a system to track the short rows and staggered increases.

Ponyo! This colorway encompasses so many of the bold, bright primaries and corals in this film. I took particular inspiration for this from Ponyo's mother.

We can't do Ghibli without Haku. Spirited Away is an amazingly crafted piece of art and definitely a favorite. I chose our Fine Polwarth base for this one for some maximum softness and puff. The handle is excellent! 🥹

Soot Sprites Kit! This is on our Corriedale fiber and comes with 2oz of the dark Soot fiber and 1oz each of the star candy colors. I think this would make the most adorable striped projects like socks or mitts.
