Supreme Court weighing Mississippi mail-in ballot case that could have major impact on Illinois voting laws Conservatives want mail-in ballots to be counted no later than Election Day. Illinois allows ballots postmarked or certified by Election Day to be counted up to 14 days after the election.

If the Supreme Court rules against accepting mail in ballot after election day, all Republicans have to do is slow down mail service in blue states to put their thumb on the scale of the election.
