Almost falls apart save for the extremely earnest performances of James Earl Jones and Redgrave. Some hilarious line deliveries. Quite literally freak 4 freak.

Not too sure about the plot being entirely coherent but it doesn’t really matter cuz this is one of the most visually striking movies I’ve ever seen. It’s a shame Hype never worked on almost any other movies because every scene of this is so impressively staged/shot it blew my mind.

I love Spike Lee’s ability to make a movie that feels like a play. Killer soundtrack, killer acting. Spike Lee has this awesome way of dropping you into an ecosystem of characters and disarming you with a good time until the third acts of his movies where he rocks your shit.

Daytime scenes in horror are underrated - they give a dissociated, “something is off” feeling. Pulse does them perfectly.
