afterwards, he’d insist he was never really scared. it’s a reflex to flinch when someone jumps out and screams at you. that’s a basic fact. NO he did NOT “get into it.”

(later, after he’s home, he startles at the sound of an owl hooting and swears to never go to one of those damned places again)

once inside, he’d quiet down, but maintain the usual “I’m-so-not-impressed-by-this” look.

anyway he’d proceed to get jumpscared about thirty times

obligatory “he’d only be there if someone dragged him.” but anyway the whole time he’s waiting to get inside, khasar is critiquing the set, the props, the costumes. how could anyone find this frightening? really, is that supposed to be an ahriman? it’s inaccurate.

btw if you ever punch him for being an ass he will not fight back and he 100% believes this gives him the moral high ground

also re: the chirurgeon point. yeah. he’s seen a lot of injuries in his career. many of them obtained for very stupid reasons. the world would be such a better place if people stopped trying to learn to be machinists.

he sees it as very animalistic. something that requires very little intelligence to excel at and benefits few, if any. it’s beneath him.

and if you ENJOY that sort of thing?? ugh. you’re a fool at best, a mindless brute at worst.

putting aside extreme cases (i.e. fighting against an oppressive force), khasar tends to think of violence as someone giving in to their basest instincts. controlled, skill-based fights (like two martial artists sparring) aren’t as bad, but still get a raised eyebrow from him.

khasar has a general disdain for violence and will only resort to it if absolutely necessary. you’d think his attitude stems from being a chirurgeon, but that’s not entirely the case lol

khasar is currently in thanalan and feeling very stressed out 👍 he totally has the situation completely under control though. it’s all fine. don’t even worry.

as for what’s going through his mind, I think it can be summed up as a combo of “I hate it here” and “why are other people so difficult”

also I guess this doesn’t apply directly to khasar but I really, really dislike the way the naadam is in the game too. in my mind palace it’s a lot closer to what the real thing looks like (a series of competitions/games)

no shade to people who like it but I’m sorry. the “au ra limbal rings are magic” lore is so dumb to me and I completely ignore it. in my mind it’s all genetics

honestly the best way to approach khasar when he’s Clearly Ruminating is to be very non-judgmental and non-assuming. putting emphasis on solving a problem won’t hurt either (“if I did something, I’d like to apologize for it”)

on the flip side, be too harsh (“I won because I’m better. you need to get over it”) and, while he’ll internally agree with you because he thinks his feelings are illogical, it’ll hurt him and drive him away from you

I think he’s hard to handle when he’s jealous too 💀 come across as too caring/consoling (“hey, you know, I disagree with the head chirurgeon. I think you deserved that award more than me. maybe I’ll talk to them”) and you’ll just piss him off because he’ll see it as pity

he won’t make any passive-aggressive remarks (he can control himself that much at least), but definitely when the person he’s jealous over walks in they get a flat “oh. it’s you.”

he’ll vehemently deny any attempts to call out his jealousy. no, he’s just focused and not up for idle talk is all.

the thing about khasar and jealousy is that he KNOWS he’s being irrational and petty, so he tries to not let the feeling show at all, but he’s also not as good at controlling his emotions as he thinks he is. so he ends up being snippy and sullen lol
