I went to bed early on election night because I was too stressed. I woke up very early the next day and when I saw that he won, my entire body collapsed. I felt broken like never before. I knew. It felt like the beginning of the end.

I also thought too highly of us. I took democracy for granted. I let my white privilege lie to me. This is mighty humbling but also motivating. We need to fix things.

I have disliked him as long as I have known of him, for his racist accusations about the Central Park 5, his awful business practices and his slimy personality. The guy has always made my skin crawl. I will never understand what anyone sees positively in him.

It has been increasingly stressful and horrifying to see what ICE has been doing to people all along. Your comment is understandable but at the same time the protestors have, for the most part, been white people, many of us older. For those of us involved since the beginning this isn't true.
