Proton but don't give them your credit card number.
There isn't a service that will go to jail for you.

It's safer for you to practice better security than to expect a government to practice that for you.
If you need your email to be anonymous, don't pay for it with a credit card or set a recovery email/phone.
These companies can't hand over what they don't have.
Thanks. I think you're right and that's good to know. I deleted the original post, don't want to spread misinfo.

The store you bought it in probably has cameras, the phone in your pocket is tracking you to the store, your car probably is too, and so are the Flock cameras on the route to the store.

Good thread on staying anonymous with Proton. Proton isn't perfect, but it's still a good service for radicals if you know how to use it, and not to trust it with your PII.
Don't give Proton (or any company) your CC, IP address, phone number, or name if you don't want it handed over to cops.
Don't trust any email provider with your credit card information, IP address, or phone number. Don't expect Tuta to fight government orders on your behalf. All of these companies will comply rather than go out of existence, so you need to make sure they don't have your PII to begin with.

𧡠Todayβs news: Proton turned over payment info for a Stop Cop City account. Not good β it's state repression in action.
Controversial opinion: We don't think this means all activists should abandon Proton for docs/email.
It depends on your threat model. Let's explore.

Most people will be fine with the free options. We only pay Proton so we don't miss any tips due to the inbox getting full.

If your radical project is public facing and doesn't have a privacy-focused email, make one.
It is so frustrating when we try to reach out to folks and they only have Gmail or Instagram. Make a Proton, Riseup, or Tuta address with the Tor browser and don't connect a CC or phone number to it.
It doesn't look like the FBI got the emails. They got the credit card details used to pay for the account. But you're right, email is sketchy.
05.03.2026 22:53 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0We make a public post asking for someone to donate a Proton gift card every year to pay for our subscription. That's another way to avoid tying your credit card to a Proton account.

If you must pay for a Proton account for a radical project, pay with cash (you can mail it) or washed crypto (Monero -> Bitcoin).
All credit card payments are traceable, even to a privacy-focused company.
Your security model should not rely on a business to fight the state on your behalf.

Everyone who cares about abolishing ICE needs to read up on the Prairieland case.
This is the playbook for repression the Trump regime will use to push back against popular resistance to it's ethnic cleansing campaign.
Shooting dozens of rounds of tear gas and using pepper spray and their batons, the SPVM violently pushed back more than a thousand people who showed up this afternoon to send a message to GardaWorld over their contracts with ICE at their offices and training center in Ville Saint-Laurent. (thread)

Across Pueblo and Pueblo County, students are walking out in protest to ICE practices across the United States.
Pueblo students now join countless others who have done the same at the corner of Highway 50 and Baltimore.

A whole announcement for "potentially violating" law. No evidence that any law has been broken, just "potentially."
This is an ideological attack on the First Amendment to protect neo-Nazis.
Not a lawyer but that probably wouldn't hold up in court. It could be a fun way to keep the blockade going though.

I promise you that the vast majority of people setting up blockades today know this.
Many people are willing to take risks.
