Also just to be clear I always expected there to be real money store items (hell it's in the preorder bundle). I think I would care significantly less if it was just like directly battlenet cash and from the store UI or something. This is what feels especially egregious to me.

Let's just hope UI Team and Encounter Team are in sync on this, because if UI Team starts going back on a lot of the restrictions before launch but the Encounters for season 1 were already made with the "New Addons-lite World" in mind, it could be problematic.

I'm not completely opposed to the idea of what they are trying to do, but I think it's clear they don't have enough time to do it in a way that will be satisfactory for addon devs and players by launch.
