La Festa della Sensa will be celebrated soon in #Venice, on June 1st. And the little garden will be dressed festively, all white in early summer: Oleander, fragrant jasmine, chamomile, wild roses, petunia, datura stramonium, and more๐

When I read history or mythology of the region I search for this map of the Mediterranean thatโs tilted by 90 degrees. It somehow makes the Mediterranean Sea look even smaller and is confusing to look at buuuut it forces me to look at the region differently. Source: buff.ly/31JaIig

Here's a fun one for Venice lovers. A very accurate map from 1838 made by two Englishmen. If you think Venice doesn't change much you might be in for a surprise. Take a look at what's now via Garibaldi for starters.

Yes, Santa Maria del Giglio is closed until 30 November, because it takes a few days to remove the pontoon bridge
22.11.2024 18:27 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0You can also see that in the 1920s, the pontoon bridge was set up next to Punta della Dogana, which is its original position (that is, not crossing the Grand Canal between San Gregorio and SM del Giglio, as it does in our times). #festadellasalute #venezia #storiadivenezia #canalgrande
