A friend recommended using codeberg.org/sonusmix/son... - I installed the Flatpak and it has an option to manage volume per app rather than per stream and an option to prevent apps from controlling their system volume.

This is usable workaround, though I'd wish this was built into the volume applet

It might not just be KDE - installing pavucontrol so it's independent of KDE shows the same issue. I also don't think it's a window title, since if there are two tabs in the same browser window playing audio, both tabs show in the system application mixer

Huhhh??? The Firefox volume in the system mixer is tied to the in-browser media volume control???

the tab stops the current video and plays the next video, the volume is at 100% again
