We've only been able to raise $50 this June.

I know things are pretty rough out there, but even what is considered to be a 'tiny' donation is actually super helpful. A lot of people pitching in a little bit goes a long way.

So if you can help, I'd appreciate it.

The fundraiser for my brother Salim has stalled for a couple of weeks.

But if we can have 8 people donate $25 each, we at least cover his medication costs for the week ahead.

Let’s see what we can do to help him, together.

We are at $223 of $2000 raised with 5 days to go. So I've opened up everything in my art store as a gift for any contribution.

You have regular & customized audiodrama role-playing games to access to other original pieces of audio art to your own personal readings

Just a reminder that I wrote a book, it’s called The Dad Rock That Made Me a Woman, it’s out in May via @utexaspress.bsky.social , and you should pre-order it wherever you can.

I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying this book by Clarkisha Kent.
Here is a brilliant partial review by Roslyn
Talusan that drew me to it:
"Clarkisha Kent's distinctive, powerful voice flourishes on the page in Fat Off, Fat On.
She's candid and sharp in recounting some of the most vulnerable moments in her life as a young millennial-specifically as a fat, disabled, queer Black woman existing in America. Fat Off, Fat On is incisive in its critique of systemic oppression, and Kent's warmth, wit, and humor evoke a feeling of being in the room with her as she traces her journey back home to her Self and her body."
When we discuss rest, I have to stress again

it's not just about sleep.
It's also about putting to bed some of these arbitrary, made-up standards that were put on women's bodies, especially Black women's bodies...that we never asked for.
And in case anyone wants to protest...
"Well Tasha, that's White women! WEEEE don't deal with alluhdat!"
Read the book Π¨
And also read this article:

compared to 2.5% among non-Hispanic white women."
QUOTE #2:
"Research around why someone develops an eating disorder is primarily centered around white women and their experiences. For example, the SCOFF questionnaire, a common screening tool for eating disorders that was developed in the 1990s, consistently lacks the depth to explain differences between racial demographic experiences. The absence of investigation and data into how Black women experience eating disorders dramatically increases disparities in both diagnosis and treatment, not to mention stigma and shame for Black women who do develop disordered eating."

Just got done reading this thoughtful post someone made about my book, β€˜Fat Off, Fat On: A Big Bitch Manifesto.

The best part of the post for me is them recognizing how important it was for me, as a Black women, to discuss how much we are ignored in conversations and studies on eating disorders πŸ₯Ή

AI doesn’t just require tons of electric power. It also guzzles enormous sums of water. It also guzzles enormous sums of water.

β€œIn order to shoot off one email per week for a year, ChatGPT would use up 27 liters of water, or about one-and-a-half jugs… that means if one in 10 U.S. residentsβ€”16 million peopleβ€”asked ChatGPT to write an email a week, it’d cost more than 435 million liters of water.”
