Teenage Play matters
The facilities provided in parks ‘for teenagers’ are often linked to sport and ‘play’ is ignored. 90% of current users of these facilities are boys & men.

Teenage ‘play’ is different to that of younger children but equally important. Play could mean more girls in parks.

'Breathing Space'

Today marks four years since the consultation on a #PavementParking ban in England - and we're still waiting for action. Disabled campaigner and journalist Katie Pennick says:

"In this photo you can see what happens when parking places are put on the pavement. My wheelchair does not fit!"

@playingout.bsky.social ... My council is asking for insurance to close the street for play. Am I right to feel frustrated? Feels very unfair.

I'm a play therapist and have been on a very similar journey, such a shame.. I assume it's money, the same as the psychlogists so keen to hang on to to the triune / left right brain theories!

#Childreninneed day was one of my all time favourite days as a kid. But having worked for charities as a grown up, if you're considering donating, please instead find a childrens charity you love and send the money directly to them. Supporting unrestricted funds is priceless to charities.
