You need to know the hardware, COBOL code that works in Unix will crash the mainframe in IBM and vice versa. In theory I know COBOL, but it's a bit like knowing how to swim and knowing how to be a Coast Guard rescue diver, they're very different skill sets.

COBOL is literally the worst language to try to use AI on. I took a course in COBOL with the idea that I could make big bucks, but the issue is not that you don't know the language but you don't know the coding concepts in place at the time; it's procedural so every variable is global.

Nobody wants to work anymore! Also, illegals are stealing the jobs you don't want to do. Also you are poor because illegals stole all the benefits. But also the economy is suffering because we can't find people to do certain jobs. The hypocrisy is the point.

They're prisoners in a poverty box, but they don't know it; so they vote for the person that tells them nothing will change. All of the trans and brown people will go away. They can keep their guns, their religion and their crumbling town if they vote Republican. That's rural America.

Republicans play at being small town people that understand them and they tell those people that Democrats are going to raise their taxes. That the taxes will be so high their factory or farms or slaughterhouse will close, and that scares them; they can't imagine a world outside of their town.

The people in these towns typically almost all work for one company. If that company goes under their town is dead. These people are stuck, they can make enough money to leave the bubble, so everyone they meet thinks like them. These are the places Republicans win, because Republicans lie to them.

To help you understand this you need to understand one thing, the vast majority of America is extremely fucking empty. You know how in old Western movies the town is like 10 wooden shacks and there's a big empty desert around it? Well a lot of America is that but with a gas station and McDonald's.
