It's honestly hard to imagine the trauma of being outed as intersex on such a public stage. You might not have known yourself. You might be from a v conservative country where that information seriously endangers you.

Like, the selective tiered system wasn't just introduced for the sake of selectivity, it was a compromise of the wartime government that both Labour and Tories could accept and that didn't strain war-decimated public resources too badly.

It doesn't even make sense in the original logic of the Tripartite System. The problems of the pre-war system that grammar schools were supposed to be part of solving, like virtually no working-class kids going to secondary school at all, just don't exist any more.

It sounds a bit cliché and silly to say there are "different types of racist", but it does somewhat characterise the GOP. The typical GOP *voter* sounds like your racist granddad, but the typical GOP *activist* sounds like a school shooter.
