There are similarities between the Sheckley and King stories but it's "cooking with the same ingredients" stuff.
THE MOVIE THOUGH... Yves Boisset who directed a French adaptation of Sheckley's story fought and won an 11 year plagiarism case.

What always struck me was how different it was from the King/Bachman novella I read as a teen.

I learned last year that this is because 'The Running Man' is actually an adaptation of Sheckley's 'The Prize of Peril' with the character names changed. That whole story is it's own wild ride.

I wasn't impressed. It's been a while but honestly the only word that comes to mind is... Beige.

FWIW there are some pretty good vegan and vegetarian haggis out there too.

The only thing I want to see about this story is the Unions creating hell about the implication that THE WOMAN DOING HER JOB AS REQUIRED was behaving inappropriately.

The mainstream press has run this _nothing_ story for a week before gender hypocrite "Robert Galbraith" made wine burps about it.

Their role in propagating this bullshit also needs to be recognised.

"Resilient" was a word I heard often from organisations & politicians.

"This is a resilient community"

It means they know how the decisions have been detrimental. They see the needs and shortfalls. They will do nothing, again.

"Resilient" is just "Boo shucks, suck it up!" in empowerment speak

Hilarious scenes at the anti-Trump protest as a trump supporter demands a sign with 'fuck' on it is taken down because he's brought his kids, and when it doesn't happen immediately he starts screaming 'fucking bams' and a reel of other profanity in front of said kids.

For context.. I was blocked today by someone I've never to my knowledge interacted with... the account in question is top 5 for blocking today (courtesy of clearsky) I'm one of ~500k+ users they blocked.. so I'm not taking it personally. But the immediate reaction was ' what the hell did I do?'

I worked on Hornet today.

I'm happy with the shape of her hips and just need to add a little detail to her upper torso before I start on the arms and have to figure out what I'm doing about her hands and grip.

Sometimes you find out who a character is by playing them.
Sometimes what you find out is that it's ham sandwiches all the way down.

I think when I say issues... I mostly mean my own ability to properly clean and maintain it 😉

I sometimes think about air brushes and compressors... And pressure pots and vacuum chambers for my own practice.

And I'm honestly so happy that I have no room for any of it because it means I don't have to deal with the issues that comes with it all.
