Prepping for this weeks #ttrpg session is interesting. Instead of playing on foundry, we are doing our first in person game of Daggerheart!

That and I'm running it just hours after arriving via plane.

Spears, arrows and bows. Pointy stuff!

It's game day for my #ttrpg group! They are leveling, and hopefully chewing the scenery now that they have saved the town. It's a bit daunting as I don't know exactly where they are going to go, so it's going to be a 90% improv session while I hastily double check lore notes. #PathofStars

They maintain a hidden underground shrine, dedicated to a woman of antiquity. They did not make the shrine, but they keep it clean and burn incense there regularly.

The Dark Eldar had just been released when I first started playing 40k so they were lore light last I remember.

So which faction(s) would you want to start a new major event in 40k history?

I know I set up more ttrpg campaigns than I could handle when I was in a similar situation, got very close to some 'Cones of Dunshire' moments.

I believe that is called "sweat equity"

Nothing like running a good #ttrpg to make you want to run a completely different setting/system.

I've been wanting to run some kind of counterstrike/Rainbow 6/Valorant worldwide spy shenanigan's. What do people recommend for systems for that kind of shoot/investigate game loop?

My Daggerheart #ttrpg campaign is going well. And by well it's a chaotic mess, I have no clue what the players are going to do or how I'm going to react to it.

But things are happening, so that is good. Lots of NPCs lots of confusion. Just need to make sure it makes sense when the smoke clears.

Honestly I want to hear a breakdown of the outfits like they were skins for a league character....

Just need to tell into the void, a family member is graduating from university, and we are throwing a party for them. Their in-laws decided to mock the idea of celebrating it, and totally trying to kill the vibe, RSVP'd no, and are convincing others to skip it.

Gah!

But If I keep them elsewhere, it will be more of a mystery, and give me a chance to ramp up the danger as they fight another chunk of the undead.

Either way the second stage is trying to stop the undead from reaching the cemetery!

They have three different fires to respond to, and they are purposely not near each other giving me some breathing room to have wherever they don't go be as big of a problem as I need it to be.

If they meet the main undead first, the PCs may try to Leeroy Jenkins them, but it establishes stakes.

This is part of the inciting act of my game, the goal is to get the players into conflict with a sentient undead, who is going to monologue about the "Sidereal Conspiracy" while trying to get an undead horde going.

Currently trying to figure out how quick I should ramp things up.

Doing some prep for tuesdays #ttrpg game. The party has encountered a swarm of undead that entered the peaceful star they are on. A few flares were thrown up at some of the other gates, obviously signaling trouble. There is a nefarious undead plot afoot!

Too many systems, not enough time and people...
#ttrpg problems.

I tend toward the idea that beam weapons are for softer scifi, and projectiles for harder scifi.

I had to leave that subreddit for that exact reason, everything useful about it left under a wave of arguing and trend chasing.

I would love a full break from D&D, but I've found when I try to bring people into the hobby, they either are only interested in the big name, or they don't want to explore options until they have played "the original"

I never got into pathfinder. I began with a mishmash of 1e/2e with my dads hand-me-down books. Properly had 3e, and 3.5, really loved 4, but the community hate mixed with just fatigue made me look into other systems. I've played a bunch of PbtA, but moved back to dnd for my group after I moved away.

This looks like the vibe I wish Destiny had/stuck with.

With this group, Dnd. A one shot of 5th, then a campaign in 4e that fell apart for a multitude of reasons. I think Daggerheart strikes a nice balance between having powers and big player specific moves, and narrative choice in how run things. But I need more time for a proper opinion.

It's a personal game so the art is sourced from various spots, and some of my players turned to AI which is sad. I hope once they have settled into their characters and roles I will be able to afford some descent commissioned art to use instead.

Last nights #ttrpg session went well. It was a session zero mixed with a little teaser. Daggerheart was quite lovely, the hope and fear mechanic was fun, and the players liked the freeform combat. Just need to let everyone settle into their characters so the RP can shine more next session!

Yay it's game night. Going to hopefully wrap up he session zero stuff and get our #ttrpg campaign started!

I was able to get my players moved away from D&D, and out of all the options provided they choose Daggerheart. It's not a huge change, but it is a change.

That said, the discussion went well. They are now figuring out what elements/plots they wanted out of that scenario. They wanted unfinished business, and have plans to talk about how to do that in session zero, while still having a character that A) will help, and B) others don't want to cut loose.
