Unpopular opinion: TTPD was not one of Taylor Swift’s best album. It didn’t have the umph/funk of Midnights, the energy and grandiose of 1989 or the rawness and memorability of Folklore. I thought TTPD was uninspired and monotonous, like rejects from Midnights put together into an album.

I will continue to watch primarily because well, Redmayne. He’s perfection in everything he does. (Ok maybe except Les Miserables.)

The Jackal is a mystery character so the series’ focus on back stories is a no for me. The book never gave him a back story either. Heck, by the end of the book and movie, it almost felt like the Jackal never existed after all.

The 1973 film by Fred Zinnemann was thrilling and suspenseful without being action packed. The investigation, and the Jackal himself was more cerebral, less personal.

I have mixed feelings about the new series Day of the Jackal on Peacock. Love Eddie Redmayne, and I love every thing he does but I love the 1973 film so much and I can’t help but compare.

I miss Japan already.
