yeppp i have noticed too. something ive seen more is ppl very shamelessly recording the movies, sometimes not even lowering the brightness of their screen LOL which always confuses me........................the one time i went to the movies w my younger sister she did the same, and i was like ??????

in my brief time on a fandom that was celebrity focused, i encountered many ppl who unfortunately had very similar ways of thinking.

mima is constantly coerced into doing sexual acts, but rumi and memania arent against this for any concern towards mima as a person (not even rumi who's her actual friend). it's all about maintaining control and ownership over her, and keeping the image they have of her intact.

also the way in perfect blue mimania and fake mima talk about mima like they know her /actual/ wishes, they know better than her, etc etc.............oh kon u would have hated stan twitter

this made me hesitant of watching paprika this week, i dont want to deal with that again LOL. im now extra thankful than when i went to watch utena there was only two other ppl there cuz jfc

someone brought a baby to perfect blue (WHY would u do that), and then in millennium actress there was a group of girls talking loudly for most of it. one of them even explained the movie to her friend in the middle of it like.........................................girl.

10/10 movies but holy shit do anime fans lack movie theater etiquette

same with millennium actress, but that has the layer of how these are the recounted memories of an old woman, who is also implied throughout the movie to already struggle remembering things. the production of the movies, her personal journey, and the movies get blended together

perfect blue will never make sense if you try to approach it as something u need to solve like "this is exactly what happened". the point is for it to be as confusing and bizarre to you, as the audience, as it is to mima, so then you feel like youre living it alongside her.

watching perfect blue and millennium actress back to back was a great experience overall. it cemented something even further in me, which is that these are not movies youre supposed to watch trying to understand from a logical point, but from an emotional and empathic one
