We show the non-image forming role of #Rhodopsin7 in #Drosophila, expanding our understanding of #opsins beyond classical vision.
This work highlights how #Rh7 contributes to extra-retinal light sensing and plays a role in behavioral light responses.

#Clunio is a midge and a truly #marine #insect. You can find it on the #European #Atlantic #coast in the #intertidal zone. This is the region between the low #tide and high tide, alternating between marine and terrestrial conditions.
