It was not true, no young girls were found alive from the flood todo. The search and rescue crew, I and others believed it. News reports were reporting it. It was incorrect and malicious. I am deleting my previous post in regard to the miracle we thought we found with my apologies. π’

Flash floods have long haunted the Texas Hill Country
Four of the worst floods in recent Guadalupe River history have occurred in July.
Donβt believe all the anti ππ© BS! We were warned!! Those who paid attention to the forecasters knew there was a flood watch. Only sirens would have helped, the ones voted down 5 times in the past by residents. We Texans call it FLASH FLOOD ALLEY for a sad reason! www.kvue.com/article/news...

One father was aware of the flash flood watch, as we all were. He prepared for the worst. He left the truck hitched to the RV that night if they needed to evacuate. The family stayed in the RV, he jumped out into the truck and saved them all. His forethought and plan of action was amazing.

Sadly no. The Summer Camps, (about 20) there all had kids. The majority of lives lost were people by the banks and not in camp grounds. Some barely made it out due to a person banging on the RVβs sides to get out while others were still swept away. The 4th made the banks fill with campers. π’

Also, in the hills thereβs dead spots and no local news stations. The life saving mechanism would be sirens. And, many were from out of town, text messages would not have arrived without registration. We were warned the day before by officials there would be flash flooding but this was unthinkable.

I wish I had the answer for you. What I know is residents who live in the area never experienced the river rising to that level. Those not affected in past floods woke up to waist level water inside their homes. The same ones who voted down such a system 5 times. Many lost were campers too. π₯²

Itβs not that the state wonβt install a warning system, itβs the residents of the area who chose not to allow it. 5 times itβs been brought for a vote and each time voted down due to the maintenance cost. I remember each tragic event. Sadly, there will be others without an early warning system. π₯²

I posted a similar article with these same details. It comes down to the residents who live in the area. Five times they voted down an early warning system due to the cost. Now the extra revenue the state will bring in due to THC sales and his veto, in my opinion would be a great thing to invest in.

The residents of the area voted NOT to have an early warning system 5 times and this is the result because of the cost. Itβs like telling MAGA not to vote for the ππ©, they do not listen. All the facts, staffing, and data has not swayed them then, now or the future

Thereβs a reason we Texans call the area Flash Flood Alley since 1959. Itβs not that I know best, our past is proof 4 past flash floods have happened in July and will continue due to the terrain and weather, fully staffed or not. Sad but true.

Then ask them, when was the last time they remember seeing the Guadalupe River rage like that?
They will tell you NEVER because all the atmospheric conditions that came together to create this nightmare has NEVER happened.
Without an early warning system in place, all is lost from the top down.

I know the area extremely well. It is not an opinion, it is statement based on facts. I and my bestie volunteer at one of the camps. Thereβs miles and miles of river and on the 4th a favorite place to be for locals, campers and tourists. Uβall can fight amongst yourselves but we know better

While fully staffed, we have dealt with other significant flooding events such as this one, three in my lifetime here in Texas.
Fully staffed or not, this tragedy would have occurred due to the magnitude of rain in such a short period of time. It was unprecedented and unpredictable.

I agree. Positions are empty because of the ππ© but it would have made no difference. I knew in advance of the weather pattern setting up. I pay attention to the news and weather. Most do not. If itβs not on Tik Tok itβs not seen and early warning systems were voted down for the area.

Even if all positions were staffed, the same end result would have occurred due to the type of weather occurrence which came together. As the article states, itβs hard to to forecast these kind of rainfall rates.
Forecasts provide us with data but arenβt written in stone regardless of the staffing.

No, it wasnβt local officials. Those you saw were sent by Abbott. They were in defensive mode. They were being called out by the media and got testy. They donβt know the area like the local sheriffβs and they werenβt there. Those guys have their boots on the ground looking for friends and family.

How Did The Texas Flash Flood Event Happen? - Videos from The Weather Channel

I live in Texas and need no investigation. We were all clearly warned of the potential of severe flooding, we just didnβt know where or how bad. Weβre under a flash flood warning NOW, till 2pm Sunday. This same system has been flooding other areas since then as well.

Tell me how those out of town visitors for the 4th were supposed to get those messages in their phones when they donβt even live in the area? How would the municipalityβs as you so boldly stated have gotten their number to notify them? Your logic befuddles me!

Spoken like someone who knows shit about our hill country or the areas hit. There are NO municipalities in those areas and their miles from all with a force of 5 if lucky. They do not have the big city resources you think they should have and whatβs more many 4th out of town campers on the river.

Donβt be fooled by political BS. Our tragic flooding in Texas had nothing to do with the ππ©βs cuts to NOAA. We were warned in advance the potential for severe flooding was high. NO weather person couldβve predicted the amount of rain to fall or where. Donβt add to our sorrow by believing lies!
