Yeah none of this is new. People were pointing to Utah and Hillary antics in '16 so yeah I had forgotten the double edged sword of redistricting.

Everyone needs to tune in to this bullshit going on with the redistricting/voting location noise during primaries.
Especially states making these last-second changes.
This will continue to be weaponized, even if it's ultimately driven by incompetency, for the general elections.
One reminder I caught was the difference between primaries being state-run vs federally run in November. I've been curious if this level of shenanigans can get pulled later, but I'm glad we're talking *now* for when it's tried anyways. 🫠

Yeah I've been deeply uncomfy, thinking of my own family members, that have been in positions of influence/power with a world view that the rapture will save us all.
Cool cool cool so running on a plan that's *not* about building a sustainable future. Nice.
I mean it's prob a mix given our split society, but the fact they're trying it anyways 🙄

I've been waiting for more sources to pick up on this.
By no means a shocker. Masks keep coming off anyways.
Now that we're "here" and Anthropic is getting some questionable glory (I get it, I get it - we celebrate minimal backbone in this industry) mixed with a bump in monopoly energy:
How are we prepping for the price lock-in ahead of the rip of the subsidizing rug?
That's gonna be fun. 🍿
Yup.
The journey of catching the blatantly-AI slop, to the moments when I didn't clock that it's AI, to the now settling that everyone uses it so YEAH things will have traces of it etc
Hard to set these lines but I'm over here trying haha
Caaareful -- all of these companies are merely a few degrees apart in their profits and partnerships. Palantir is a hefty partner in these AI endeavors so I couldn't claim any moral high ground, if using any of them.
That said, I do like that Anthropic pushes at all. My bar is in hell, though.
Oh man preach.
Watching tech pals say "well I'm not the corrupt CEO" while building the tools that profit the corrupt CEO is a level of compartmentalizing that is way way way too far.
Watching people finally rethink OpenAI this weekend was a slight morale boost that MAYBE, just maybe, our petty, fickle, short-sighted nature will keep us from going over this "inevitable" cliff.
Takes a lot to get to these points (yowza) but so many 180'd hardddd.
Just maybe.
I think that's the part i have to get myself to get over: people have been copying and pasting code from the internet forever lol a lot of these llms are just making that slop exchange FASTER haha
it's back to what we accept as "good" and that bar has been kicked down to hell
This is my inherent struggle, after sidestepping all the culty drivers around it, because I barely trust the status quo of search and now we've got all this generated noise on top.
I envy my eng pals that cruise with these tools, smiling ear to ear. But I'm over here having an ethical dilemma haha
Lolol Sam Altman himself pointed to AI washing for layoffs and people are still in the "but did employees feel the 40% workload reduction with AI?" discussion 😆🫠
So many of these people keep up with the speed of new releases but refuse to clock the motives behind them all 🤷🏻♀️
If I can't have Rage Against the Machine in this cursed timeline, I'll take the backup plan of new Saint Agnes in their place.
"But everythings fine! Everythings fine! Get back in the line!"
youtu.be/alv7eMqL3pQ?...
Yeah I mean, pretty much everyone in my tech sphere uses AI or LLMs to adjust their own language. It's hard for me to knock or bother with that so long as I'm getting someone's story but I get if that knocks people out.
I don't think we have a choice but to tolerate it.
"The abstraction ship sailed decades ago. We just didn’t notice because each layer arrived gradually enough that we could pretend we still understood the whole stack. AI is just the layer that made the pretence impossible to maintain."
Stewing on this one.

This Breeze / Mist game is fun.
Watching Brink block Stewie is wild but might not be enough. 👀
Lolol I know I know 😆 I'm picking poisons over here

I need to touch grass.
Yes, in the tech sense but also in the "omg enough snow" point of the non-stop winter.
My left hand with my kiddo's red, glass heart in it that he randomly handed over to me
"Here, Mommy, you can have my heart."

The world is :: vague gesturing :: but whew do these little, random moments come through. ♥️
Viola Davis so happy about Michael B. Jordan winning a SAG award that she transcends time space and white supremacy.
When it finally happens:

Too many believe that bots will do the mundane work, really well, while we sit back and chill.
NEVER been the case so I'm not thinking this time will be.
This this this.
The "it's inevitable" talk gets me just as fired up as this wild hype cycle and too many people trip into it. Yes, the powers-that-be are intensely shoving but it doesn't change that *it comes down to whether anyone uses this stuff at scale*
And I'll give that I spent time in my career in highly-regulated verticals so lliiiiike this is all too normalized for me and why moving fast and breaking shit never appealed.
We know humans are the ones to break.
