I liked Chamisa even when he sold the masses false hope. However, the use of the word president to describe himself is unncessary and over the top. He doesn't even have a political party yet calling himself president. It's way past the time to drop the student activist mentality.

The 16th Ebola Virus Disease Outbreak in Bulape Health Zone, Kasai, Democratic Republic of the Congo: A new spillover event from an unknown reservoir host Background The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is currently facing concurrent outbreaks including mpox, cholera and malaria (1-4). The Ministry of Public Health, DRC has declared the 16th Ebola...

Sequence data from the new Ebola outbreak in DRC suggests it is indeed a new spillover.

And just incredible to see the virus sequenced and the data publicly shared less than 24 hours after confirmation of the outbreak.

Is it merely a coincidence with Mnangagwa having attended the shindig with Xi in China?

Chronic viral hepatitis affects more than 70 million people in Africa Two to three million South Africans have chronic viral hepatitis, with most remaining undiagnosed and untreated.

Today is #WorldHepatitisDay. Viral hepatitis remains largely neglected, despite having solutions that work. While we delay, millions continue to suffer and die needlessly. Let us break it down! #NoHep. www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2025...

New article about #HBV drug #resistance produced by a diverse international working group for @who.int. There are lots of unanswered questions in this field - which is why we need a roadmap, collaborations and curiosity.

Not sure how to respond to Kirsty's election as IOC president. I am pleased for her as an individual, she was a fantastic olympian but has been undoubtedly one of the worst ministers that Zimbabwe has ever had. I hope she can show competence as IOC president, otherwise Africa will have a bad name.

The help is welcome but I hope that the leadership which loves to preach sovereignty is also learning something from the USAID crisis. We cannot continue to be beggars. African governments must stop stealing and enriching others at our expense.

Lula is saying the truth that developing nations are not supposed to say loudly. It's interesting noticing the groups that are lambasting Ramaphosa in SA for standing up to the playground bully. It's the same groups that found apartheid acceptable as long as they benefitted.

The discussion reminds me what many African countries have endured over the years. Colonialists visited our shores, "discovered" and "named" our landmarks, e.g Mosi-oa-Tunya - widely referred to as Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe/Zambia "was discovered" by David Livingstone. Colonial names have stuck.

1 Dollar, 1 World I have been at WHO for over 10 years. Like my colleagues, I have worked my butt off day and night to fight Covid and work towards universal access to health care. This place frustrates me every day.

Let's be inspired by this crisis for global health to do what small pieces we each can.
