GenXer who grew up on PBS in a small town & ended up in Fortune 5s. I have very strong feelings about our failed government, media, tech, fascism .. and video games. Not here for clout, just old and treat this like it’s a BBS πŸ™‚

So you have no idea how much corporate PR, marketing, etc all appreciate you asking questions like this that corps can just help backstop by hard coding a few more personality items in since oh we also had at least one person on staff who had taken philosophy classes entirely on personal identity.

My job was to build the personality over an AI such that it mimicked people so closely it seemed alive. We hired psychologists and screen writers.

This job still exists and corporations still use it and deploy it entirely against philosophy brained and/or still eager to trust tech overlords rubes.

Reverend Jesse Jackson called on each of us to be heralds of change, to be messengers of hope; to step forward and say β€œSend me” wherever we have a chance to make an impact.

How fortunate we were that Jesse Jackson answered that call. What a great debt we owe to him.

okay so this seems pretty clear. he knows what it is, he did it on purpose, he chose keeping it over his career with the Marines, if we know this then Susan Collins will also know it, it will 100% come up in the general, let's be done talking about this guy as a real candidate

I lack the words to capture it, but ... it's just endlessly remarkable to me that so many people in our society have chosen trans kis -- TRANS KIDS, the smallest, least significant, most vulnerable demographic slice you could possibly pick -- as a repository for all their fears & insecurities.

It’s hilarious, I mean Bezos himself would never hire someone into math-and-science heavy Amazon who was like β€œgod created the world in 7 days, evolution is fake, LGBTQ+ is not genetic, it’s satanic, women are evil and must be kept under control and allowed to die because god said so”.. so wtf

imho this is straight downstream of their knowledge that R lawyers and judges (inc the Supreme Court) exist to engineer legal defenses and say everything they are doing is legal including β€œthe president is a king”

92,000 jobs gone in a single month and the people who spent years screaming about β€œBiden’s economy” are suddenly very quiet. No pandemic. Just the consequences of reckless leadership.

New from 404 Media: Proton Mail, the privacy-focused email service, gave authorities data that let the FBI unmask an anonymous 'Stop Cop City' protester. It was payment data linked to the anonymous email account. From that, FBI ID'd them, then tracked their movements www.404media.co/proton-mail-...

I find a lot of folks who were either never poor or forgot what it was like have a tendency to ascribe to rudeness or intentional provocation what is actually β€œlook I’m too fucking poor to spend $250+ a month on fancy weed and my roommates won’t let me smoke inside our tiny place”

There are all sorts of things that you can do if you have $ to avoid the issue she’s complaining about - buy expensive vaporizers, air purifiers, own a home you can smoke in, buy the expensive strains that don’t stink as bad. So imho this is very much a class-based/race-based criticism.

β€œWe don’t necessarily need to persuade a lot of people that we are right. We need to persuade a lot of people to do things, to take risks and do things, and to feel that what we do matters. you need to understand that Platner is not just a candidate , he is a canary in the coalmine to a certain kind of man that the world has not changed and they still can get plush gigs and pole position in society and life with zero qualification and even less aptitude for the work .

Men: What a scary time for men this is.

never, ever, ever, ever accept "how will you pay for it?" as an argument against social programs.

Exactly, I also thought it was pretty concerning that the people who worked with him directly and had the job of trying to crisis manage all of this quit over of their own concerns about him. That’s a huge red flag and got papered over real fast with philosophical debate and electoral strategy.

When someone says β€žScientists do not want you to knowβ€œ you can dismiss everything from there on. Scientists want you to know. They are desperate that you know. They can’t shut up about what they found out and want you to know.

Weird that they think that they can essentially force God’s hand by starting Armageddon themselves. Or that Jesus as written in the Bible would ignore both β€œwhat you do to the least/you do to me” (Matthew 25) and the treatment of every person - some of whom are named Jesus - in ICE detention.

as always "how would the court rule on this case to maximally advance Republican interests" is a better barometer for SCOTUS' actions than "how should the law be reasonably applied based on past precedent"
