The strong engagement of MSG members and continued stakeholder interest in moving from disclosure to public exposure of fisheries information shows the growing impact and relevance of the FiTI process in Seychelles!

We were also pleased to note the participation of Mrs Mumtaz Hasan, Chief Information Commissioner from the Information Commission, as an observer. She emphasised the importance of proactive information disclosure, especially in light of the requirement under the Access to Information Act 2018.

La Mauritanie a récemment célébré son nouveau statut de « conforme » à la FiTI lors d’une cérémonie à Nouakchott, soulignant les efforts déployés par le gouvernement pour améliorer la transparence des pêches ainsi que les mesures correctives à mettre en œuvre pour maintenir son statut de "conforme".

#Mauritania recently celebrated its new "compliant" status with the #FiTI at a ceremony in Nouakchott, underscoring the efforts that the Government has made to improve fisheries transparency as well as the corrective measures to be implemented to maintain compliant status.

Together, this partnership works to enhance transparency and participation for the sustainable management of Ghana's marine fisheries sector.

#FiTI recently embarked on a country mission to Guinea-Bissau to discuss enhancing the nation’s fisheries transparency through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). With the reports now available at the National Library, anyone can walk in & learn more about how the country’s marine resources are managed. By making these reports public & easy to find, the National MSG is helping build trust & understanding around one of the nation's most important sectors.
