bear in mind that the highly-qualified people appearing on these shows — these are experienced high-end lawyers, not random pundits — still to this day appear to believe that there is some trace of a functional justice system in the US

and that within that system benefit of the doubt exists on a sliding scale related directly to skin colour, connections, and income: beyond a certain level of each the function of US law is to seek reasons to exonerate you regardless of evidence

Can anyone confirm Heritage’s strange claim that Montpelier has no exhibits on James Madison? And also, the Constitution protected the institution of slavery in several ways, an institution that made Madison’s entire economic existence possible. Madison owned ~100 people and freed none of them.
