This project did require a lot of getting familiar with Incus and clound-init stuff @__@, but i'm happy with the current result ^^.

There is still a lot of clean-up I have to do around my playbooks though 😅

The migration wasn't that hard, since I already had separated all the persistent storage to an external DAS, I just had to translate the proxmox playbooks to create the containers on Incus.

Incus on the other hand is great for my use case. It let's me create system containers and provides all the tools to be able to manage my resources without constrains ^^.

Proxmox is a powerful solution, and I would definitively recommend it for projects like this. My only problem is that I prefer to work with Fedora as a base distro for my projects, and Proxmox constrains you to work with Debian.

8 months ago I started my #Homelab prototype project using Proxmox, Ansible and some old hardware that was lying around home.

Since the project was a success, I rebuilt it from scratch using a new computer and replaced Proxmox with Incus so I could use Fedora as a base ^^

And of the other announced games, I'd prefer to buy them for Steam. I feel that it's better to own them on a platform that won't get killed with the release of a new device. I might even consider to purchase a portable Steam device in the future if I fail to turn my Retroid device into one.

I also don't feel that Nintendo franchises are attractive enough to keep me going for them. I lost interest in the Zelda franchise after BOTW. The latest Pokemon was fun, but online changed rules way too often to keep me engaged, and I think I can live without owning the next Kirby title.

I already own a relatively beefy PC, a Quest 3 and a Switch 1. I also purchased a Retroid Pocket device, which let's me take advantage of a big library through Emulation / Android Store / Steam Link in a portable form factor. I don't see the Switch 2 competing with any these devices.

In the case of the Switch 2, besides the improved specs, I feel that the main innovation is the incorporation of an usable mouse. This might bring more games that are designed for PC into the console, which could be cool for those within the ecosystem, but IDK if it will bring new people into it.

The 3DS for example had great social experiences. It was cool to be able to get ghost racers to compete with in Mario Kart 7 while commuting to work, or sending silly doodles to my friends through Swapnote. Even the Mii games were fun in that regard ^^, and I'm not even talking about games.

I usually measure a console value by their exclusive games/experiences. There were some exclusives that motivated me to get a Switch, but what sealed the deal was knowing that I could install Linux on it if Nintendo ended up turning it into a brick on EOL. Luckily the Switch outlived that necessity.

Even if I could buy a Switch 2, I'm currently not interested. Purchasing a console makes sense to me if you don't mind that you will end up with a brick in exchange to be able to play in their closed-garden ecosystem. At the current time Nintendo is not providing enough value for me to buy in.

For about 3 months I dedicated myself into researching what emulation devices were available on the market, and after a lot of thinking, ended up purchasing a Retroid Pocket Flip 2.
