Boring #IndyCar race.

Time for #NASCAR - no secret that I’m a fan of COTA, and I love a good NASCAR race anyway, so looking forward to this. Hopefully 23XI can make it 3 from 3.

I enjoy #IndyCar because I’m a racing junkie, but it is very much background racing for me these days, and I can see why people turn off.

I have nothing against domination, but Palou is so clearly ahead of the field it’s not even funny. And as for driving round in 15 year old cars..

This was trying to remove the wiper arm. The actual tool meant for the job wasn’t doing it. After an hour I gave up doing it properly. Several swift hits later and it was off.

The actual teaching was “Sometimes, Uncle Matt is right: if all else fails, hit it with a hammer”

Finally a dry day so that I could sort the broken wiper motor on the Honda (irony not lost on me)

Had a helper who absolutely loved it. She learnt two important lessons:
1) put your tools back where you got them from
2) if all else fails, whack it with a hammer.

And too often the answer is "a dark indistinct shape". I at least want a distinct accent colour/shape so I can identify you in ~1 second

I spent a week last year watching the official highlights of every rally from 2001-2004ish. We seem to have peaked then as they were pretty much perfect windows into the events.

Watched the #WRC highlights on RedBull.tv

They’re not bad and worth a watch - tell the story reasonably well, but aren’t stage by stage. A lot of shots looking at drivers faces in the dark which are pointless - seen far better shots showing off the sport on socials.

Dominating win for Solberg at the Monte Carlo Rally. Did the hard work on day 1 and then was brilliant in the conditions

Looks like a cracking rally overall. The fan vids/vids on socials have been brilliant, I hope the highlights package does it justice with similar shots stitched together well.

Two more followers to get to 400. Can I make that by the end of this year's Daytona 24 Hours? By the time we go green again?

It’s a perfect social media sport as well so shouldn’t be as difficult as it is.

Snowy walk

My car, a black 2008 Honda CRV, before I left work.

Snow is coming down a lot here. I live up a 10% hill. I was doing fine with a bit of speed, until two cars in front got stuck, resulting in a large car park forming. Ended up ditching my car at my aunties at the bottom of the hill and walked 2km home instead

Defused the situation when I got out my car, slipped on my arse straight down said hill. Guy I hit proceeded to do the same.

No damage to my car at all, slight scuff on his bumper. Could have been worse.

Police then closed the road off as several more did similar.

Horrible black ice on the school run this morning. Couple of cars in a ditch, police slowing people down. Wasn’t enough, as I slid into the back of the car in front of me at very low speed on the slight hill when they stopped.
