Autorretrato, 1672 Fue educada por su padre, el pintor, poeta y músico Henri Chéron, del que recibió una completa formación en artes plásticas, literatura e interpretación musical.

La muerte de Virginia, 1650 Fue una artista multifacética muy admirada en su tiempo que obtuvo un gran reconocimiento social. Con sólo 22 años se convirtió en la cuarta mujer admitida en la “Académie Royale de Peinture et de Sculpture” de París, gracias a la recomendación del pintor Charles Le Brun.

Retrato de Jeanne Marie Bouvier de la Mothe Guyon, 1700 La obra que presentó para acceder al ingreso fue su “Autorretrato” (1672). Al año siguiente debutó en el Salón parisino con este cuadro y según consta en los catálogos de los salones también expuso en 1699 y en 1704.

Presunto retrato de Madame Deshoulières como Santa Agnés, s/d Falleció el 3 de septiembre de 1711 a los 62 años.

Retrato de Margaretta por James Peale, .c. 1820 Hija del pintor James Peale, y hermana de las también pintoras Sarah y Anna Peale. Nacida en Filadelfia, Pensilvania, recibió clases de su padre y pintó principalmente naturalezas muertas.

Naturaleza muerta con melón y melocotones, 1828 Estilísticamente, sus pinturas están influenciadas por la obra de su padre, las naturalezas muertas de su prima Raphaelle Peale y las naturalezas muertas holandesas del siglo XVII.

Racimo de uva y melocotones, 1830 Sus obras destacan por su "observación cuidadosa y precisa" y su "arrugada disposición de los objetos"Sus fondos tienden a ser "austeros" o "neutros", realzando los colores y las texturas de los objetos en primer plano.

Fresas y cerezas, c. 1830 Sus pinturas se pueden encontrar en numerosas colecciones, incluida la Academia de Bellas Artes de Pensilvania en Filadelfia, de la que fue miembro fundador. Falleció el 17 de enero de 1882 a los 86 años.

Autorretrato, 1725 Giulia Elisabetta Lama fue la hija primogénita del pintor Agostino Lama y de su mujer Valentina dell’Avese. Tuvo otros dos hermanos y dos hermanas: Cecilia, Niccolò, Pietro y Lucia.

Judit y Holofernes, 1730 Se cree que fue discípula de su padre y que también se formó en la Escuela del pintor Antonio Molinari en Venecia, donde coincidió con el pintor Giovanni Battista Piazzetta a quien le unió una amistad desde la infancia y con quien Giulia Lama compartió taller hasta su muerte.

Eliphaz, Bildad y Zophar consolando a Job, 1730 Giulia Lama fue una artista muy completa que se formó en filosofía, matemáticas, poesía y labores textiles, actividad que compaginó con la pintura para ganarse la vida. Por su gran talento como pintora recibió el maltrato social de sus compañeros pintores coetáneos, que se burlaban de su aspecto físico y de su carácter.

Virgen rezando, c. 1720 La pintura de Giulia Lama sigue la corriente del neo-tenebrismo veneciano, destacando su esencial anti-academicismo y su violenta expresividad, incluso tendiendo a la deformación anatómica. Falleció el 7 de octubre de 1747 a los 66 años.

Judith Leyster, a 17thC Dutch artist. She's sitting at her easel proping her right elbow on the post of her chair and holding her paintbrush in her right hand. In her left hand she grips her palette through the thumbhole, and holds several more paintbrushes. Her head turns towards the viewer, smiling. She's wearing a white cap and a huge white disc of a neck ruff over a purple dress. On the easel is a painting of a violin player.

A glorious profusion of flowers sitting on a stone ledge, in the right edge of which is the artist's signature. According to the text on the museum object page, "Luscious white and orange lilies, peonies, cabbage roses, and striated tulips compete for attention in a sumptuous display. Glistening dewdrops on the petals suggest that the blossoms are freshly cut. Indeed, their scent continues to attract hovering insects."
