Ive tried to explain what is happening the subtext. Yes there will be fewer EHCPs but the headline figure there will be accessing a new type of plan not just ignored. The children won’t go away. And I promise I’m not a bot. Too old for that.

No I absolutely agree that aspect has been appalling But hopefully this will prevent it from happening.
If the schools access the £ easily and quickly they will be quicker to support the children and families that need help.
Schools aren’t evil bodies that hate kids. They want to be able to help.

Autistic and neurodivergent students were the ones I worked with and I well understand the problems they face accessing support. The new ISPs should be an improvement for them. No need to resort to personal insults 🤫

I disagree. For one thing the schools will now be able to access the funding directly to provide for the ISPs. We will have to wait and see but from my perspective this is a long overdue reform of a sadly not effective system.

I have actually read this plan. I’m an ex teacher, over 30 years SEND experience. I was deputy and head of special units. This is a positive start. It’s backed up with £. It’s now down to the schools to implement well. Parents will be anxious but give it a chance. This could be what’s needed.
