02.12.2025 23:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Every year our church conducts lessons for our children, typically led by their Sunday school teachers. But I think it might be a better experience for them to have someone come in from outside. It might avoid some discomfort of having this discussion with someone you see every week.
02.12.2025 23:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Do I have anyone in my network who would feel qualified and comfortable leading safety lessons for children on keeping themselves safe from abuse? Paid, and we can provide the curriculum or you can bring your own if it meets our requirements. Minneapolis.
02.12.2025 23:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Just used the phrase "at your earliest convenience," which (1) yes, it makes me groan too, but (2) this is how you can tell I've lost every last shred of patience.
02.12.2025 18:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Twin Cities Board Game Group has their Black Friday game day in the social hall at St. Albert the Great. All day, but you can drop in for a couple hours, though it might take some time to find people ready to start a new game.
28.11.2025 13:58 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Woke up to this. I should probably take this as a sign to stop scrolling.
22.11.2025 13:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I can't speak to Thule, but I was very happy with our two passenger Burley. Though that was 20 years ago, so not really current info.

Several times tonight, I saw y'all posting about the northern lights and went outside and saw nothing. But about 20 minutes ago, they finally popped here

07.11.2025 18:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Important context given in the replies, which is that this is the Farmer's Almanac (a stupid publication which nobody reads -ed) and not the Old Farmers Almanac.
07.11.2025 15:36 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A no parking sign for street sweeping Thursday on a boulevard with a smattering of leaves on the ground.
A large tree with a number of yellow leaves. Notably the leaves are still on the tree.
I do have my doubts about the effectiveness of this street sweeping.
06.11.2025 16:50 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I've been wondering this ever since you first posted. I don't see anything about it in the Highland Neighborhood Group on Facebook - and this sounds big enough that I'd have expected someone to mention it, even though it's outside the neighborhood.

In the spirit of ecumenical understanding, I took the Anglican quiz thingy. I feel like I'm allowed; I've at various times spent about five years of my life associated with it in one way or another, although I was never received into it.
In any case, these results seem about right.
Precisely 365 days to the minute later, and fourteen so far, despite the kind of dreary weather. And the teens are not having to carry the load by themselves.
31.10.2025 23:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A tablet is sitting upright on a balcony railing, with the screen cover folded as a stand. It appears to be recording the concert which is taking place below. The stand is being held down by a small Behr paint can.
I believe this person is holding a tablet in place with a paint can... which is perhaps not the choice that I would have made.
19.10.2025 23:12 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A helicopter at a neighborhood No Kings protest feels new, though perhaps it's because there's no big protest at the capitol.
(Not new for Minnesota protests in general, but new compared to the last two No Kings).
St. Albert has money for school supplies available for teachers and will be randomly choosing nine teachers this Friday. I say "randomly," though my understanding is that at this point we still don't have enough requests to use up our budget.
14.10.2025 20:43 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0There are lots of other items too! I just thought this one would appeal to some people here.
You don't have to go to Thursday's grand opening to bid. You can pick up items at Agate's office. Or, if you'd rather pick up in Longfellow, I'll pick up an item for you and you can get it from St. Albert.
Agate is opening a new building with apartments and shelter space and are having a silent auction to raise funds.
One of the baskets includes handmade items, a gift card from @moonpalacebooks.bsky.social and signed copies of @naomikritzer.bsky.social's Catnet novels.
Bids close Thursday at 4:45pm.
My parish doesn't post that much, and then mostly about public events. But I asked nicely, and they agreed to write about faith formation. Because I know there are people on here who still feel connected to the church even as they are frustrated by it. And I think St. Albert could be a good fit.

It's a god-damned Minnesota peach! Purchased from the farm by Naomi.
Yes, I know why that's concerning. But also:

Guess what I'm eating...
06.09.2025 17:36 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1A white woman with (naturally) blue hair wearing a white jacket, red skirt, and white shoes. She is a Pokemon trainer avatar. A pikipek (basically a woodpecker) floats next to her shoulder as if it should be perched on it but missed. She seems blissfully unaware that it is after Labor Day.
I have been shamed by @naomikritzer.bsky.social for wearing white shoes after Labor Day.
