I had a secret day off (work, kids, parents) so Mr M took me raving to a local Hacienda tribute…

I did briefly consider the jabs but for someone who spent much of the 90s/00s raving *knowing side eye to the back row* I am now oddly resistant to putting chemicals in my body 😂

Guys! I’ve lost 30lbs since October. Some of this has been down to the stress of looking after the parentals and the rest has been down to hard graft dieting…

For the first time since mid November I have had a ‘normal’ morning at home.

It’s hugely discombobulating.

It’s rubbish.

We are still living in limbo - Dad was to be discharged this week but they’ve kept him in to investigate his sudden weight loss. Mum & I continue to pootle twixt Ward & her home. Mum’s dementia has deleted my childhood from her brain but she at least still knows who I am.

Meh.

We are struggling to get J a flu jab. Get yourself registered as your Mum’s carer, it helps access to things like jabs. Good luck xx

I did some from a coffee shop.

Today was one of those days that caring for a parent with dementia got to me a bit. I’m grateful she remembers who I am but feel sad that dementia has robbed her of many spontaneous memories, including my childhood: she remembers her siblings as babies but not her own children or my childhood home.

Makes me nostalgic for when the FB Aunties & Uncles believed they might win a caravan because the competition winner didn't claim it.

Speak to their GP. My parents filled out forms that gave me carer status so I can set up appts, get results, etc.. This has been crucial.

I have now got carers going in twice a day for my Mum to take some pressure off me. Dad is in a rehab setting but progress is slow due to heart failure issues.

I’ve been trying to keep up while juggling my own Mum (dementia) and my Dad (in various hospitals since early Nov) and bonus warring siblings. It’s absolutely backbreaking.

I loved a trip to Infinity Foods when I lived in Horsham.

I am currently living a kind of half life: Dad is still in hospital & needs short term residential care to rehabilitate his mobility. Mum is at home and entirely dependent on me for support. I have extra support starting next week for Mum to help me cope. The guilt is immense.

He probably needs a S.

Dad is still in hospital. My sibling group is in meltdown. Watched “3 Salons at the Seaside” with Mum. So many memories of being in salons with my Mum while she worked in the 80s. May have silently cried a bit. On the plus side, I’ve lost a stone on the Worry Diet (not recommended).

Somehow apt. Nobody messes with a heron. Nobody messed with Queen Elizabeth.

Morning! Any stats on how much rain fell yesterday? Hoping it might start to reverse the fortunes of the empty bays at Nature Reserves of Pitsford…

Dear Lego, I love you but please please please don’t show inaccurate pictures of characters holding pieces they cannot hold, on boxes as it can be a trigger for ND people. Yours, exhausted from trying to get a digger driver to “hold both controls like the picture”, etc.
