It’s devolved into a platform for members of the Trump cartel to spew talking points and propaganda.

It’s not a venue for accountability or the truth.

Journalist Edward R. Murrow used his platform on CBS to criticize the witch hunts led by Senator Joseph McCarthy in the 1950s.

This is what real journalism should do — hold power to account, not capitulate to it.

"Never heard of it" was his official line throughout the campaign - and of course it was a lie. But that’s not the scandal. The scandal is how many people believed the check was actually in the mail considering who was saying that it was.

This victory supports what Oregonians already know: we don’t need or want Donald Trump to provoke violence by deploying federal troops in our state. I’ll keep working to stop Trump from fulfilling his perverse fantasy of making Portland the center of his assault on U.S. cities.
