They are. Truthfully, if I hadn’t been 32 when I had my first child, I’d probably have had more than three, because I LOVE being a mum. But I was 40 when my youngest was born, so I didn’t want to push my luck. I do enjoy my kids in a different way now they’re all adults. They’re like 3 mad pals 🤣

By the time I had my youngest I had nailed the whole labour & delivery thing, and the entire experience was amazing. I was actually euphoric afterwards. Too bad I only got the hang of it properly by the last one 😂😂😂😂.

It must be horrible to see someone you love so much being in agony. Glad your partner had an epidural before the pain was too much. Mine was delayed bc the anaesthetist had to go to an emergency. When I had my second I told them there was no way they were inducing me. Ever. 😆

My husband was a pure state with our first. I was induced and nothing was happening, so they broke my water and the PAIN! Jfc it was horrific, I nearly bit through the gas & air mouthpiece. By the time I got an epidural he was chalk white. After our son was born husband was nearly on the floor 🤣🤣

Honestly he needs to bugger off. He’s not what people need or want, despite his solid belief that he is.

My younger two were born in the birthing pool. I had some gas & air with my younger son, but when I had my daughter I didn’t even use that. When she was born, I delivered her and lifted her out of the pool. The midwife did nothing except watch to make sure there were no complications.

It makes my blood boil when I see American women in labour, lying in bed in their backs, hooked to a load of monitors. And then when they actually give birth there’s a doctor in full scrubs and everything is so clinical. Birth is natural, it’s not a medical procedure.

WHAT!? Tbh, birth is far too medicalised in America. I assume it’s to make sure there’s less likelihood of anything going wrong, which would lead to them being sued. Plus, they can charge the insurance companies far more than for a birth with minimal intervention.

And if you don’t have decent health insurance, you’re stuffed. It’s mental that folk in the US have to pay for health care.

Both of them had excellent health insurance so their babies got the best care, but I remember them telling me that literally every time a doctor looked into the incubator it was another $50. Every cotton swab, diaper, wipe etc were charged & on the bill.

I can’t even imagine what that’s like 😳
