Further to our etymologist friend Peter’s point about the origins of the term ‘football’, I believe it is also true that association football is unique among the seven recognised codes of ‘football’ in that it is illegal for players (goalkeeper excluded) to use their hands at all.

🥚 The mainstream narrative of #adoption feels like someone has made a three-hour biopic but only given the subject five minutes’ worth of screen time.

Why are some food outlets so averse to displaying a fixed menu above their counter? If all I am greeted with is an endless scroll of promos and part menus that disappear too quickly, I will simply walk away and not come back.

Good faith question: would you be willing to share your rationale for putting over 25s in with the rest of the so-called ‘triad’?

🥚 I’m thinking out loud on this one, but I want to articulate something along the lines of:

‘When you adopt, your ‘story’ ceases to be only yours to tell. You are now the ‘stewards’ of another family’s ‘story’- a responsibility to be borne with the requisite level of care and discretion.’

if you are an adoptive parent you do not so much *have* a perspective to set against that of #adoptees as *lack* necessary perspective.

It may make you uncomfortable to listen to adoptees. But instead of writing us off as “angry” outliers, a bit of respectful listening might help you as a parent.
