He stored some in his beak which I assume he goes on to share with his more timid girlfriend who never comes close to me. I watch him share what he gets with her which warms my heart so much

A weathered stone memorial in St Mary’s Cemetery, Kensal Green. The monument features a sculpture of an angel kneeling in prayer, her head bowed and wings folded gently behind her. She holds a small bouquet of flowers in her hands. The angel is framed by two carved stone pillars supporting a triangular pediment engraved with the name GANDOLFI. Beneath the angel, a dark marble plaque bears an oval ceramic portrait of a man, now faded with time. The surrounding graves and greenery, along with a cloudy sky, lend a peaceful atmosphere to the scene.

#31daysofgraves day 31 Memento Mori. Sadly the headstones at Dunblane Cathedral graveyard, with memento mori, are now mostly worn away. These images are all from Dunblane Museum. Staff & volunteers there are helping with a new graveyard audio tour, hopefully out soon. 🀞 Cheeky wee plug! πŸ˜€

#31DaysOfGraves Day 31: Memento mori (Latin for "remember (that you have) to die"); symbols or tropes acting as a reminder of the inevitability of death. The most common motif is a skull, but other motifs include a coffin, hourglass or wilting flowers to signify the impermanence of life. #Edinburgh

The last day of #31DaysOfGraves 31: memento mori. These symbols seem to be very common here in Scotland. Here are just a few from Stirling and Northumberland.

A cluster of Victorian gravestones in York Cemetery, in different colours surrounded by bare trees and a carpet of damp leaves. In the foreground stands a moss-covered headstone in a pale green, and the other white stone headstone has moss on the edges that almost looks neon. Other older, darker gravestones fill the background, giving the scene a quiet, reflective atmosphere typical of historic English cemeteries.

#31DaysOfGraves - Day #30 Colour

The municipal cemetery in Landau-in-der-Pfalz is also home to the historical Jewish Cemetery. The oldest stones are made from the local red sandstone which, unfortunately, isn't the most durable material for a gravestone. But there's a quiet beauty to them...

Yes, I HAD heard from someone on my dads side that had also done our family tree previously that it was in Scotland which makes sense as my dads side hail from there. I’ve neglected that half of the family and figured I’d look into it and was suprised to find it was true !

Eeee!! I love a good rummage through a charity shop! I’d be a permanent resident if one was close to me! I love finding quirky collectibles - especially tea sets. I often find myself hiding boxes of them from my partner who politely reminds me I don’t even drink tea πŸ™ƒ
