Wondery fired 110 producers today. The latest in a bunch of cuts that have decimated long form narrative podcasting. I have noodled for years now on the way forward and I really see independent shows as the only way. Some of my producers lost side gigs from this. It’s really hard out here!

As I turn 50 today I thought I might post a poem that I wrote yesterday, back when I was in my 40s.

The two examples I've highlighted there are in Nottinghamshire, the area supposedly covered Nottinghamshire Live, who rewrote the story from the Telegraph/Express and seem to have repeated the claims with the aim of reaching a national audience. Honestly, just bring AI apocalypse on news now.

Maybe there's a case for reviving these allotments! Maybe there's a principle at stake! But you can see they're abandoned / flytipped on Google Maps!

So this allotment story is absolutely blowing up everywhere and the government will prob U-turn soon due to UNEXPECTED VIRALITY IN THE BAGGING AREA.

London Centric’s average payment time from receipt of a freelancer’s invoice is currently eight minutes.

And it’s a tiny operation but also it means people might actually want to work with you again in future? And freelancers talk to each other and say you pay promptly so pitch better ideas.

From now on, every time I hear someone tell me they only use AI to "come up with ideas", I'm going to give them a slightly pitying look and say "Aw, are your own ideas that bad?"
