I figure knowing it's a common thing will help. Some people think it's wrong to ask for help with money and consider that to be scamming, some think everyone is faking our situations and needs...

You will get accused a lot -- it isn't you, it's them.
Take a screenshot, block and let the mutual aid community know so we can block them and move on.
