23.03.2025 19:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Kathan Brown, "Still Life," 1958; a monochrome intaglio print of abstracted objects on a table, seemingly lit from behind and casting shadows toward the viewer. The objects are rendered in various textural tones of grey. The work is in the collection of the Stanley Museum of Art at the University of Iowa.
Rest well, Kathan Brownβthe magical secrets of printmaking live on because you knew they must be shared.
"Hold on lightly; Attempt what is not certain; Do it right; Do it well; Don't try it alone; Tell the truth; Construct a life; Keep searching for what you need to know; Know that you are lucky."

22.02.2025 00:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Framed works in a variety of colors and of a variety of subjects in a white-walled gallery. My works, second from right, are dark, roughly square lithographic images of typographic spacing material, highlighting the differences created through time, wear, and manufacture on multiple examples of these mass-produced 'silences.'
Two lithographs from my series "Admission of Structure" (the black squares framed on the right) are up now alongside 40 other Minnesota printmakers in 'The Fine Print' at White Bear Center for the Arts. Show runs through March 27.

"Ellipses β Banff" done and ready for Puerto Rico, part of 'Landmarkings' portfolio organized by Alex Thompson and Vinicius Libardoni. Looking at structural posts holding up the edges of parking lots and sidewalks in Banff national park, and a visual nod to Canadian printmaker Jo Manning.
