what drives me insane is that they literally advertised open as a casual ranked queue and that they would be adding league (ranked team queue) matches later and that just...never happened so now we have Aerospray Aaron and his buddies potentially running into moonlight if the matchmaking decides it

mind you im very aware that a lot of it is just the same old "im mad bc youre better than me" nonsense.

although arguably a lot of people just want a scapegoat for why the game feels like shit and they cant say "the japanese" like they used to without sounding racist

it also demonstrates a basic misunderstanding bc i think way too many ppl conflate "plays a weapon aggressively / plays a non-painting weapon" as "competitive player" which is just objectively incorrect.

there are casuals that like aggro play. there are paint-focused support competitive players.

i think everyone forgets that theres casuals who play aggressively and like killing ppl. but since the makeup of splattubers these days is largely competitive, people dont really see that anymore.

whats wild in this neo "casual vs competitive splatoon" vagueposting cycle is that most of the casual darlings (aero,brush, roller) basically all got a massive blanket buff w the hitbox changes, hp bars and even flow aura as a concept but bc flow aura rewards ppl for being good its "for competituve"
