thing is that the Government need to plan & implement for their policies of tourism & immigration! The infrastructure covers 750000 Cypriots, but they need capacity for the other 750000 on the island at any given time!
They have the same morbidity that other Governments have around getting ahead

There is a part of the Cypriot population that don't want the Sovereign Base Areas for sure, but there's a part that's OK with it & happy for the added security both UK & UN bring (it is a divided island at end of day!).
They certainly want tourists! It's what the economy is built on!
