Dismay as UK prepares to sign β€˜values-free’ Β£1.6bn trade deal with Gulf states Exclusive: Trade unions and human rights organisations fear environment and human rights being pushed aside

#Starmer should not agree deals with countries that abuse human rights & workers’ rights, & violate international law. & low standards of animal welfare. Little benefit to UK economy, detrimental to our moral integrity. We expect better from a Labour government.

And I think I've captured the psychology of the man.

It’s so much easier to tear something down than to build something better. Farage will only ever destroy. Because his ideologies don’t work.
They divide, they harm, they cost, they isolate. He doesn’t want a better EU deal.
He *needs* the failure.
His power relies on the anger that creates.

Incredibly depressing day. I've spent my entire life being told by British governments how dreadful immigration is. New Labour did it. The Coalition. The Brexiters. Now Starmer. All of them accusing the ones who came before them of failing to clamp down. The same old vacant mean-spirited bollocks.

It is time to call out right from wrong.
Starmer’s Labour Party are on the wrong side of history, stand up for what is right, because if you go along with their horrific policies, you will be complicit in transforming the UK into a post-Brexit corporate-owned political system of governance.

Yes what a crushing disappointment this Labour government have turned out to be, especially after 14 years of the terrible Tories. It really saddens me that I lent them my vote on a tactical basis to GTTO, never again !

We were repeatedly told that Brexit wouldn’t affect our freedom of movement. They lied. Labour should be working on getting the restrictions on freedom of movement lifted for EVERYONE, not just the young. If they achieve that, they mi get just get a second term.

Sadly all Labour care about is remaining in power so they won't do anything sensible like that in case of alienating the mythical 'red wall' voters. A sorry state of affairs indeed..

Ah lovely. Another bag of rubbish gets tipped into the House of Lords. The place must absolutely reek of stale Tory failure, corruption and abuse of power.
Honours handed out like sweeties to some of the most undeserving, underachieving, overpromoted clowns and liars to have ever held public office.

Let’s just remind ourselves of the alternative trade deals the UK is signing up to…

0.08% growth by 2038 from the CPTPP trade deal. Against a 4% long term loss from Brexit.

We need to stop pretending this isn’t ruinous stupidity.
