They called it the Rec Room. End the time we saw it it had more limited capacity. McCoy only mentioned locations, heavily implying it could not generate people. Also, if the holodeck already operates like this, why was Riker impressed?

I think once the daughter storyline was resolved, his weight in the narrative went down. The ambassador episode was definitely strong in M’Benga and Babs was good in it. I think it’s because M’Benga’s stories depend heavily on the Klingon war, which was a Disco plot point I didn’t care for much.

M’Benga was an interesting choice, but I very much would’ve preferred Boyce. Babs O hasn’t been a bad actor, but I don’t think the character three seasons in has had that much story potential.

Knowing how the producers of SNW cannot pass up Easter eggs, I’d assume McCoy would pop up at some point to establish his friendship with Kirk.

I feel like that would be a MUST if the goal is Kirk’s first year. Kirk’s first episode should be reflective of that. It’s already bad enough we didn’t get Dr. Boyce in SNW.

Agreed. Feels like he (the ‘other’ Mitchell) should be in SNW in some capacity! If nothing else, we have these great books.

I’ve not seen this episode in like 2 years. After ‘The Sehlat That Ate It’s Tail’, I wonder if it’ll feel any different at all.
