This is somewhat misleading. Heggerty isn't intended to replace phonics instruction. There are multiple key components of reading, only one of which is phonemic awareness. Also need phonics, comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, plus oral language and writing! www.edweek.org/teaching-lea...

Week 2 down. I love the kids and the school! It's great to be working with students and teachers again. My favorite part of the week: working with new teachers on classroom management.

Last week, I started a new job at an elementary school in FL as MTSS Coach & Behavior Coach. I had a busy week: I subbed for a day in 1st gr, took on my first-ever lunch duty, attended an evening meeting, subbed in 3rd gr, walked many kids to & from the office, & signed up for lots of req trainings!
