Universal Human Rights means far more than being free of hate speech, because disinformation isn’t just noise. It’s a means of human rights violation.

If a platform can’t also deal with disinformation, it’s inherently violating human rights.

NOT to say I think the comparison is made out of malice, but simply uninformed and a lack of awareness/empathy on the subject. Which is not his fault if he wasn’t aware of the possible harm done by that rhetoric. Hopefully he sees the comments and understands.

I get the point Hank’s trying to make by comparing social media and food, but it encourages a very damaging way to view food. Knowing myself susceptible to EDs, reading people’s comments of “I just became better and didn’t eat [blank]” was QUITE triggering
