A Common Sydney Octopus (Octopus tetricus) reaching out at the camera. Two arms are going up at and past the camera, and they are blurry at the ends from being out of focus. You can see two arms going off the right, and just the suckers on an arm to the right as it is blocked by one of the raised arms. The octopus is dark and light brown, with a yellowing orange siphon and mantle opening, and orange on the underside of its arms with white suckers. The octopus otherwise on the ground and you can see various sea plants around.

Got in a staring contest today. Me & @invertebabe.bsky.social vs the cuttlefish.

We went snorkeling at Sesoko beach in Okinawa and saw 12(!!!!) cuttlefish. Absolutely amazing.
