I’m not saying tiktok and ai are anywhere near the same as far as importance and impact. I’m just saying it’s the pretentiousness that’s ridiculous 😅

Artists draw on inspiration of other artists all the time though. AI is trained from the work we have done. People get on and google things for inspiration alllll the time. AI is just a streamlined version of that, which can help ppl spend more time actually creating. There’s lots of moving parts.

I am an artist myself so I fully agree with how harmful it is for artists. But I also think that ppl have been so broken down none of us have time to create art anymore anyways. AI does help ppl get back into it with more ease of access though. It’s a fine line.

That is true we are always learning and growing. I do think there is value in having niched down on a specific area of expertise though!

How so?

As far as being derivative & plagiaristic, it’s no different than googling, asking a question on Reddit, reading a book, or a peer reviewed study.

Humans get ideas from other humans. You don’t have to act like the latter is more pretentious because it’s not as quick or easily accessible.
